Field trip to Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society on 18^th october 2024

• The main objective of the visit was to gain a deeper understanding of  genetics of thalassemia and sickle cell disease, their impact on individuals and communities, and the ongoing efforts to provide medical,emotional, and social support to affected individuals

Out reach activity:Awarness program on genetics for high school children  on 29th November 2024

• As apart of our out reach activity students visited Mahaboobia Girls Government school, Abids and conducted session to orient high school students (8^th and 9^th class) .Following are the sessions
• Session1: Showing slides on mitotic and meotic divisions to upskill them on cell divisions
• Session 2: Demonstration of blood typing and awarness on blood donations as a social cause

2022-23

• Blood typing Awareness and demonstration of DNA extraction experiments were organized in college campus for other streams,non teaching staff,faculty

2021-22

• Department of Genetics was a platform for Science Club – initiated by department and expanded to college level inviting membership from all streams of UG programs,created an impact on the functioning of the department where staff and students are actively involved in events creating awareness on Science – A thought process  which inspired students of all streams to educate others on science with a focus on government schools around the college.

2019-20

• The department took an initiative to start SCIENCE CLUB,a brain child of the department and playing a leading role in creating awareness on the impact of Science and Technology in our daily life and society.
• Outreach activities were organised under department and also under the banner of SCIENCE CLUB , for high school children created an awareness on importance and inheritance of blood groups, blood donation as social responsibility and educating them on cell divisions mitosis and meiosis and origin of cancer as a disease.

2018-19

• Outreach activities were organized under department and also under the banner of SCIENCE CLUB , for TULASI high school children created an awareness on importance and inheritance of blood  groups, blood donation as social responsibility and educating them on cell divisions mitosis and meiosis and origin of cancer as a disease.
