  • Nasrah Mubeen,Ms.Rachna Gowlikar & Ms.Syeda Nooreen Fatima of GCM II are participating in ongoing Virtual Summer Research Project on Mining the Zebrafish Genome with molecular biology concepts and bioinformatics tools organized by Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (Centre for Advancement of Research Skills), Hyderabad under the supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar Challa ,visiting scientist and Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama, US.
  • Rachna Gowlikar & Ms.Syeda Nooreen Fatima of GCM II completed an internship program in Cancer Research through young science leadership workshop series held during May 2020 under the mentor Dr. Radhika Vaishnav,Co-founder and Executive Editor of the International Journal of Molecular and ImmunoOncology
  • VedaRani Changal of MCZ II has completed fifteen days virtual internship program on Forensic Science organized by Learn to Upgrade and wetlab championship in June 2021
  • Marwah Khaled,Raqshan Amina,Juweria Mahveeen of MCZ II has completed fifteen days virtual internship program on Genetic Engineering with Crisper technology organized by Learn to Upgrade and wetlab championship in June 2021

  • Seven second year students of GCM II participated in Samyojana is a student-centered initiative to help transform undergraduate biology education in India to spread the joy of learning science across India through reading, presenting, and discussing research literature to undergraduate students pursuing various streams of biological sciences conducted by the Centre for Advancement of Research Skills at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life  Sciences, Hyderabad under the supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar Challa Visiting Scientist at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA.
  • Student publications in writing review articles, publishing review papers in annquest (college) and other journals.

  • A two-day National Level workshop and competition series on the Topic “Development of Smart Anti-Microbiology Agent to fight AMR”  was organized by Departments of Microbiology and Biochemistry jointly in association with E-cell, IIT Mumbai.

  • Department organized a field trip to Dr.Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS),UoH Campus on 18th September,2019 to first year students to gain real time exposure and insights on current research in pharmaceutical biology.
  • Department organized a field trip to Rural Technology Park(RTP),NIRD Campus on 20th February 2020 to final year students to gain real time exposure on applied aspects of microbes in composting, biogas production and bio pesticide production.
  1. Extension Activities (Department Social Responsibility)-2
  • Awareness on Emerging Infections: Students of Department of Microbiology carried out awareness on Hepatitis on July 28th,2019 i.e. World Hepatitis Day and recent outbreak in China:Novel Corona Virus. Facts & Statistics of Hepatitis ,Corona were  displayed to students of our college.
  • Extension session on Health & Hygiene to government school children which highlighted the importance of Handwash,and about Food and water borne infections

  • Jyothi Cherukuri, Head, Dept. of Microbiology is presented with Vocational Excellence Award 2019 by Rotary Club of Hyderabad Central, Rotary International, Dist 3150 on April 25th ,2019 in recognition of rare achievements in field of teaching microbiology and actively supporting Rotaract Movement
  • Department of Microbiology along with Depts. of Biochemistry & Genetics is recognized for financial support under the strengthening component of Star College Scheme by DBT in the academic year 2019-20.
