Highlights and Achievements

2024-2025

  • Faculty published 1 papers in Group -1UGC Care journal
  • Organised Workshop on International Yoga day on 21st June, 2024
  • Celebrated Gurupoornima on 18th July, 2023. nearly 250 Students of Sanskrit department did ‘GURUVANDANA’ by reciting ‘Gurupaduka stotram’ written by Jagadguru Sankaracharya.

2023-2024

  • Faculty published 2 papers in UGC Care journals Presented 2 papers
  • Attended FDP on IKS, organised by Govt. Degree College for Women, Begumpet, Hyderabad
  • Introduced Certificate Course on Indian Knowledge Systems.
  • Organised Workshop on International Yoga day on 21st June, 2023
  • Celebrated Gurupoornima on 3rd July, 2023.
  • On the occasion of World Sanskrit Day conducted singing (Sanskrit songs) competition and Essay writing competition and organised cultural activities
  • Conducted competition on Bhagavadgita sloka recitation 19th December, 2023, on 12th Chapter (Bhaktiyogah)
  • Students presented cultural activities depicting beauty and importance of Language on ‘Matribhasha dinotsavam’ (International Mother Language Day) on 22nd Feb, 2024.
  • On the auspicious occasion of Vasantapanchami (26th Jan, 2024) students of department of Sanskrit did ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Also Department has conducted collage  competition on the topic ‘Indian Knowledge Systems’

Outreach / Social Responcibility:

  1. Visit to Anganwadi kendra: On 16th July, 2023 Faculty of the Sanskrit department along with some students went to an Anganwadi kendra, Mehdipatnam and   taught morals through stories to the children. Distributed slates, pencils, pens, toys (animals, fruits ect.). and also explained about the importance of the nutritious food to the children and pregnant ladies, and also distributed fruits.
  2. went to Govt. Primary and High School: On 11th March, 2024 Faculty of the Sanskrit department Dr. V.T.V. Krishnaveni along with some students went to a Govt. Primary and High School, Kulsumpura, Hyderabad and  taught Bhagavadgita slokas, neeti slokas and moral stories to the school children.

2022-2023

  • Organised an online National Workshop on International Yoga day on 21st June, 2022
  • Celebrated Batukamma.
  • Cultural presentated by Matribhasha dinotsav
  • On the occasion Sankranti, conducted Rangoli & Kite making competitions and also treditional food stall.
  • conducted competitions on spell check, sloka recitation, essay writing, Vasanta Panchami, Sanskrit songs singing on the occasion ‘Vasantapanchami’.

Outreach Activity:

  • On the occasion of World Sanskrit day on 14th August, 2022, faculty and students of Department of Sanskrit went to St. Xavior School.Taught Sanskrit neeti slokas, Moral stories, Sanskrit Patriotic songs, Conducted competition s to the school students and distributed prizes.
  • आजादी का अमृत महोत्सवहर घर तिरंगाTo celebrate the ‘आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव’ and ‘हर घर तिरंगा ’….on 14th August, 2022, faculty and students of Department of Sanskrit  went to School and Children are encouraged to inculcate a sense of patriotism, develop an affinity with the Indian flag and hoist the flagin their homes till 15th August 2022.

2021-2022

  • Department of Sanskrit is offering and coordinating Career Oriented Course ‘Healthand Well-being through Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda’ for second year students

Student Activities:

  • Workshops: On the occasion of International Yoga day on 21st June, 2021 Departments of Sanskrit, Telugu and Physical education has organized an online Workshop on the topic “Yoga for Holistic Health”.
  • Resource person: Yogacharya Brij BhuShan Purohit, President, Indian Yoga Fedaration, senior Vice President of Telangana Teachers Co-ordination Committee.
  • Attended about 200 people of all age groups from various states of India

2020-2021

Due to pandemic situations department of Sanskrit conducted vartual events.

  • Department has organized Online National Workshop on International Yoga Day on 21nd June, 2020, with the title ‘Conscious Breathing – A Technique of Healthy life’ .by Ms. Anupama, Yoga expert.

Extension activities –

During pandemic faculty of Department of Sanskrit encouraged the students to continue our traditions and students performed ‘Guruvandana’ and Sanskrit day Celebrations and uploaded in to Departmental You tube.

  1. Ms. Sridevi Kasavajjhala, Head, Department of Sanskrit presented and published a paper titled ‘Jnanadevatukaivalyam’ in an International Seminar on ‘Purusharthas’, by Govt. Degree College, Sadashivapet, Sangareddy, Telangana. On 8th Feb, 2020
  2. Ms. Sridevi Kasavajjhala, Head, Department of Sanskrit presented a paper titled ‘Ramayana- A Multy Dimensional Development of Humanities’ in Two Days National Conference on ‘Holistic Development through Language and Literature’ by Aurora’s Degree& P.G. College, Chikkadapally, Hyderabad
  3. Mrs. Sridevi Kasavajjhala, Head, Department of Sanskrit presented a paper titled ‘Impact of ICT in Sanskrit Teaching’ in a State Level seminar on ‘ICT for Enahanced Teaching and Learning’ by Vijnana Jyothi Institute of Arts and Science, West Marredpally, Secunderabad, 7th Feb, 2020

  • On 24th September, 2019 organised Guest Lecture –(on the occasion of Sanskrit day Celebrations) ‘Saṃskṛtasāhityavaiśiṣṭhyam’.
  • On 17th Dec, 2019 organised a Inter Disciplinary lecture – “Science in Sanskrit – Ancient Gotra Systems and Modern Genetic Systems”
  • Matrubhasha dinotsavam held on 21st Feb, 2020. Students from department of Sanskrit performed Kuchipudi dance on Madhurashtakam written by Sri Vallabhachrya

2018-2019

  • Organise 21st June, 2018, Workshop on International Yogaday for staff and students.
  • On 31th July, 2018, organised a guest lecture on the occasion of Gurupoornima. Topic: Bhāratīya Ācāryavaibhavam
  • 10th Aug, 2018, Sanskrit department in collaboration with Genetics organised an Inter disciplinary lecture on the occasion of World Sanskrit day.   

      Topic: Science in Sanskrit Literature

  • On 11th Jan, 2019, went for field trip to Kolanupaka, Aleru Dist., Telangana State.
