  • Sadaf Kalam has published a Research paper on “Difficulty to culture bacteria in the rhizosphere.”

●      Online   /Offline   creative activities like Digital Storytelling Podcast on Famous scientists of Biochemistry were done. ●      Virtual Demonstration of Science Experiments from NCERT books of 6 th to 10 th Grade initiated by second year students, videos are being compiled to be uploaded in a you tube channel ●      Career counseling session on “Career prospects in India and Abroad for life sciences students” by our Alumnus Nagajyothi Research scholar at IISc Bangalore. ●      Webinar On “Importance of Profession ready Training and Placement Program Topic: Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance organised by Dept of Biochemistry in collaboration with CLINI India on 13 Nov 2021 ●      2 Day Online Student Workshop on Topic “Bioinformatics Tools and Techniques” on Nov 19 and 20 ,2021 ●       National Science Day Celebrations organised by second and final year at three Government schools GHS Shaikpet, ZPHS Darga and ZPHS Kulsumpura. ●      On the occasion of National Science Day students of II BBC participated in a Q&A session with Dr Hema latha Director NIN ICMR at All India Radio Office Hyderabad.
  • Webinar on “Cancer Awareness and Prevention” organised by Dept of Biochemistry in collaboration with Youth ForSeva on Feb 5 2022 from 12.30 to 2 pm to observe World Cancer day.
  • Competitive Exam Guidance session by our Alumnus Niveditha MS in molecular and cell Biology University of Milan on12 March 2022 from 11 am to 12.30 noon.

  • Day Intercollegiate Level Hands on Training in Molecular Techniques Under DBT Star College Scheme was organized.
  • Outreach activity on Eco friendly alternatives and Menstrual Hygiene, Donation Drive in Govt schools was organised in Collaboration with Apna Green Products Under DBT Star College scheme in April first week.
  • Winners of Business pitch Idea Competition: Four of our students Tanisha mantry from Final Year BSc BBC and 3 students from Second year BSc BBC Pranavi, Anupama and Hafsa participated in Business Pitch Idea competition organised by ALEAP WE Hub and got selected for the 8-week Training and Mentoring programme to be held at WE Hub.
  • AM Sylaja ,HOD and Eco club Convenor :Mentoring students for a National Level project ECHO -Building a Cadre of Green Entrepreneurs-National Project . The Topic of our project is Prakrith Ki Pramithi -Designing Eco Banners from gunny bags, jute and textile waste to replace PVC banner

  • Organized National Level and state level Events Under DBT Star College Scheme
  • 12 projects were completed by students of second and final year students
  • National Level out of 650 participants in Biology and Bioengineering Summer Camp2021 organised by IIT Bombay as part of 19 Day long Summer Camp -Science Communication Workshop. They were awarded a cash price of Rs 1000 Each.
  • Krithika along with Tanisha Mantry from BSc II year are shortlisted and working on
projects allotted for an Internship programme at IIT Bombay.
  • 10 student of BSc II year participated in Annual National-level science challenge- Mimamsa 2021 and were awarded Certificates.
  • Bhavya and Smrithi from BSc Biochemistry Final year have completed one month internship on Immunoinformatics and Drug designing at Bio Axis DNA Research
  • Online creative activities like Digital Storytelling Podcast, Designing Digital scrap books on Biomolecules,, e-book on Metabolic Pathways,
  • Blended mode of teaching and Learning: Explored Virtual labs/Simulations for teaching Practicals online, Explored Digital tools like Socrative App for conducting Quizzes in online classes.
  • Faculty and Students have participated in several National, State level competitions, Workshops, Webinars Short term certificate courses during the academic year 2020-21.
  • Alekhya and Tanisha mantry participated in Samyojana 2020 Scientific reading and Presentation programme ( 13 weeks)under Dr.Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences coordinated by Dr.Anil Challa from Alabama University.
  • Two blogs created to share podcast activities done by second and final year students also infographics on Metabolic pathways are posted in the blogs.
  • AM Sylaja ,Head ,received Certificate of Appreciation from Youth For Seva on Women’s Day in recognition of contributions towards Environment Education Activities.
  • AM Sylaja received Certificate of Appreciation for mentoring students of ECHO Team for National level project ,The Team stood as State level Winners.
  • Sadaf Kalam was a resource person at MATS University, Raipur for Invited lecture on: Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and their potential role in agriculture.
  • Sadaf kalam has three publications in scopus indexed journals for the year 2020-21.
  • As part of Environment consciousness efforts, Green mitti Internship completed by five students (3 from BBC Final year and 2 from BBCSecond year) on organic farming and upcycling plastic wastes.
  • Also one of our student Alekhya form BBC II Year is a member of Journal club of
OMICS Boot Camp initiated by IIT Bombay. She contributes for the designing of Monthly NEWS letter released by the Journal club which focus on latest trends in research, science and technology

  • Students organized by IISER PuneThree teams with four students per team from 1st,2nd and 3rd year of BBC participated in the Prelims –Written test on January 18th ,2020 at College for Integrated studies ,South Campus, University of Hyderabad
  • National level Wet lab championship second round was organized at IIT Hyderabad .The Selected four meritorious students of Microbiology and Biochemistry participated in the competition and received special appreciation certificates held on as 28th or 29th Sept 2019
2018-2019
  • National Workshop: Organized National workshop and competition series in association with E-cell, IIT Kharagpur (50 Participants)
  • Organized 15 Day Training programme in Bioinformatics for Final year students

  • Faculty and Head Department of Biochemistry Mrs.AM Sylaja was awarded “Best Faculty Award” for her excellent academic and research contribution in enhancing the Teaching Learning Process during the academic year 2022-23 by Nature science Foundation Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
  • AM Sylaja is a Recipient of Special Appreciation from TSIC Telangana State Incubation Centre for mentoring Team shortlisted by Youth for Social Impact for their Project idea on Replacing Styrofoam with Biodegradable packaging during Oct-Nov 2022
  • AM Sylaja has been awarded with an Appreciation Certificate from WWF World Wildlife Fund for actively mentoring the students for the implementation of ECHO -Building Environment Conservation Heroes Programme 2022
