DEPARMENT SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Registered NGO “Dhwani” run by Department of Political Science
  • Human Rights – Club Martin Luther for creating awareness
  • Sensitization towards the community needs through the Departmental NGO regarding the importance of social work. A lecture was   organised for “Dhwani” volunteers. our students actively participated in Outreach programme.  Students in particular were encouraged to take up volunteering in their leisure hours.  Voluntary donations, interaction with NGOs like STARS COVA and others helped in the creation of the congenial environment. 
  • Provided voluntary work for the students to assist in conducting of competitions, mobilization of students. Helping to realize the goals of social work. 
  • Volunteered throughout the year for various programmes and created opportunities for exposure
2022-23
  • As a part of the social responsibility, the Department has sent 77 students DMR School, Hyderabad which is run by a welfare society for teaching the young minds the basics of their subjects, conducting competitions and fun games so as to inculcate the spirit of individual’s responsibility. The report made by each group has been compiled in a book.

 

2021-22
  • Giving Back to society

80 Students of BA Final Year, Sec-B, went to teach to Zila Parishad, Viyanagar Colony from 28th March till 1st of May, 2022. They were divided into groups and taught from standard 5th -9th choosing lessons from their syllabus. The students got good feedback and even requested them to come and take up more lessons.

2020-21
  • Lokakshemam Foundation NGO & Department of Political Science organised Plant it Yourself and an E quiz to give knowledge on Plants and Eco System on Sep20, 2020. It was a leisure activity and brought about a positive response
2019-2020
  • Awareness Programme on “Eco Friendly Ganesh Idols For School Children” organised by Telangana Pollution Control Board and Jawahar Balbhavan at Public Gardens, Hyderabad on 26th Aug, 2019 Volunteering   with NGO STARS10 Dhwani Volunteers helped in organizing the competition
  • Zoo Swachh Programme on Oct2, 2019
  • Awareness on conservation of Nature, Wild Life, Documentary Screening Volunteering 
  • along with STARS NGO Chief Conservator Kshitija   IFS, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderbad 
2018-19
  • Volunteering initiatives in collaboration with COVA, Gandhi King Foundation, US Consulate
