Highlights and Achievements
- Ms Sowjanya cleared TS-SET in Education in 2022-2023
- Loyola Academy Degree and PG college, Alwal, Secunderabad in collaboration with St. Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam, on the occasion of National Mathematics Day,Conducted competitions on 14th December, 2022 in the Loyola Academy campus.. Our students bagged prizes for the competitions
- National Mathematics Day is Celebrated on 22nd December every year to mark the birth Anniversary of the great Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Department of Mathematics under MOU activity with Youth for Seva visited Government Primary and High School, Kulsumpura with Students on 19th December 2022.
- MATH Club Activities : 1)MATH MAGIC event was conducted on 18th Dec 2022.
- 2)INFINITY AND BEYOND event was conducted on 21st Sept 2022.
- Dr. Santoshi Misra has won Excellence Service Award of Achievement in International Research Awards on Science, Technology and Management organized by VDGOOD Professional Association on 31st August 2022.
- Mrs. Santoshi Misra was awarded with Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics for the thesis titled “NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER OF NANOFLUID FLOW OVER LINEAR AND NONLINEAR STRETCHING SHEET” by GITAM UNIVERSITY in November 2021.
- Saba Firduos was on a jury judging Ganitham – a concept-based Math Fair conducted by Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society for all southern states of India on 27th June 2020.
- Nirmala Xavier and Ms.Santoshi Misra conducted a series of Vedic Mathematics sessions for high school students Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools in twin cities as part of extension activity which helps them develop competitive spirit and love for the subject in their future endeavor
- Nirmala Xavier, Head Dept. of Mathematics was appointed as the regional expert committee member to evaluate e-content in Mathematics for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan
- Gladys, Ms. Sumita have cleared NPTEL examination with distinction in “Basics of Abstract and Linear Algebra”.
- BalaSowjanya has been a member of the BOS of Telugu Department, St.Ann’s college for women.
- Faculty as Resource Person: Nirmala Xavier, Head, Department of Mathematics was invited as a resource person by the Department of Commerce for two days training program titled “ Calculus and its applications” for B. Com students (IFA) on 8th and 9th February 2019.
- Nirmala Xavier Head, Department of Mathematics delivered a lecture on “Combinatorics”, a one day workshop on Mathematical Ideas for Graduate and Post graduate Students Organized by CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science(AIMSCS).
- Nirmala Xavier, Head, Department of Mathematics was invited as a resource person by Villa Marie College for a Guest Lecture on Graph Theory on 18th October 2022.
- The lecturers of Mathematics Department of St.Ann’s College for Women visited Vijaya Lakshmi High School, Mehdipatnam to impart knowledge on the topic “Vedic Mathematics” and “Mathematics technices”, in Sept 2018& Feb 2019
- Department of Mathematics has taken the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students for the movie titled “The Man who knew Infinity” to showcase the importance of subject.
- Department staff conducted treasure hunt competition as a part of Annofesta celebrations on 15th December 2018.
- Mrs. Santoshi Misra was the recipient of Rashtriya Gaurav Award by India International Friendship Society at a seminar on “Economic Growth and National Integration” at New Delhi on 29th September 2018.
