2022-2023

As Part of Community Service

  • The Chemistry Club has offered free Chemistry education with hands-on training to 43 Government and non-government schools benefitting 2500 school students and also provided free chemistry kits designed by BSc final Year students as part of National Chemistry Week, October 2022.
  • The Department has extended a warm welcome to Deval Jamsing Govt High School students, Nampally. The school students visited the chemistry labs to get hands-on training on 2nd September 2022.
  • Five Day Awareness Drive on the occasion of National Pollution Control The awareness drive includes activities like guest lectures and Haritha Haram from 5th December to 9th December 2022.
  • โ€œเฐธเฑ†เฐฏเฐฟเฐ‚เฐŸเฑ เฐ†เฐจเฑเฐธเฑ เฐ•เฑ เฐนเฐฐเฐฟเฐค เฐนเฐพเฐฐเฐ‚: (Each one plant one)

2021-2022

  • In View of COVID 19, An Awareness session was conducted by the Department by Distributing Chemical free sanitizer and face masks in Rythu Bazaar, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad on 11th November 2021.
  • The Department of Chemistry for the welfare of underprivileged, has taken an initiative to visit St. Thomas High School and interact with school students on 17th November 2021.
  • On the Occasion of Womenโ€™s Day, the department of Chemistry had organized โ€˜A Five-Day Impact Lecture Seriesโ€™ Commemorating International Womenโ€™s Day from 8th March to 12th March 2022.

2020-2021

  • National Webinar on Women and Health in Collaboration with Royal Society of Chemistry (London) RSC-LSD on the Occasion of Womenโ€™s Day. Around 500 women participated in the webinar, held on 12th March 2021.

2019-2020

  • As part of social responsibility, the Department of Chemistry in collaboration with Royal Society of Chemistry- Local Section Deccan had organized Yusuf Hameid Inspirational Chemistry Teacher Workshop on 16th and 17th December 2019.
  • With the objectives of introducing teachers to learner centric methodologies, simplifying chemistry concepts and encouraging learning through experimenting, this workshop witnessed enlightening and inspiring sessions by RSC trained Teacher Developers Mrs. Vimala Oak and Mrs. Padmavathi. Eighty teachers from different schools and colleges attended the program.
  • Department of chemistry in collaboration with the NSS unit of the college and Red Cross organized a Blood Donation camp for Thalassemia children on 18/ 01/2020.
  • In order to bust common myths among adolescents of school and college going students the of chemistry in collaboration with NSS conducted several awareness programmes titled โ€œUnraveling Miraclesโ€. The students immensely enjoyed the various experiments that were performed and were curious to know the science behind all of the experiments.

  • For 60 students of Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Mehdipatnam on 07/03/2020.
  • For 50 students of Govt School, Naya Bazaar, Sultan Bazaar,Koti,Hyd on 10/03/2020.

2018-2019

  • To ensure a sustainable environment the Dept. of Chemistry has taken an initiative to create awareness on ‘ โ€˜SAY LESS PLASTICโ€™โ€™ by distributing eco-friendly cloth bags.
  • The Dept of Chemistry had an opportunity to visit Govt Schools to interact with school children and teach basic topics in chemistry and demonstrated the experiments with volunteers.
  • Science Exhibition at Govt School was conducted in Collaboration with SAHHARA-outreach unit of St. Annโ€™s college.
  • Free Supply of Juice for pedestrians and auto drivers outside the college in summer.
  • Visit to St . Thomas high school โ€“ 8th Feb 2018 – Two members from the department along with student volunteers had visited the school to interact and teach the students a few topics as a part of their outreach program.
