International Yoga day
International Yoga Day, celebrated on June 21st each year, is a testament to the global recognition of yoga’s importance. The United Nations declared this day to celebrate yoga’s ancient wisdom and its universal appeal. It serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and promote its practice worldwide.
By observing Yoga Day, governments, organizations, and individuals can contribute to the spread of yoga’s positive effects on physical and mental health. It encourages people to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and promotes overall wellness. Furthermore, the celebration of Yoga Day helps preserve and promote India’s rich cultural heritage and traditional practices.
To raise awareness about the importance of yoga and encourage its practice for a healthier, more peaceful and better life, the Department of Sanskrit is organizing workshops on every yoga day .
