Library OPAC : Online Public Access Catalogue :

  • OPAC Provides the access to the Library database.
  • OPAC allows the users to know the library collection and the status of the Library Resources.
  • OPAC allows the users to search the database by Title, Author, Call Number, Accession Number of the document/book.
  • User can access Online Public Access Catalogue from any computer connected to the LAN.

Under Infrastructure :

The Library located in the heart of the campus is the intellectual cross roads of the college, connecting people and ideas. With its quiet atmosphere and well-lit study areas, the library is a hub of academic inquiry. It is fully automated, with on-line public access catalogue, (OPAC), LAN, Internet (free access) and photo-copying facilities.

The Library (UG+PG) has a rich collection of more than 85,395 books on various subjects .As many as 126 Scientific and Technical journals/periodicals and 2651 CD-ROMs/DVDs and 500 e-Books are available for users.

The Dewey Decimal classification is followed for arranging books in the library. Online and Offline information combine to provide a comprehensive package of Library services.

Lending Services:

  1. Each student may borrow five/six books at a time
  2. Students may borrow reference books and CDS/DVDS after college hours on overnight basis.
  3. The borrowed books will not be renewed, if the book is in demand.
  4. The Library Book Bank Service (UGC grants) allows SC/ST/BC students to avail and retain the books till the end of their final exams, in addition to books borrowed on cards.
  5. Exchange of ID cards and Library cards is not permitted. Please note that the person who lends her card is responsible for the book, in the event of a book being lost. Hence it is mandatory for students to produce their ID cards before entering the Library.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Strict silence should be maintained in the library.
  2. Books will be issued or renewed only if the student produces the identity card.
  3. Personal belongings are to be left in the rack at the entrance of the library. Only one note book is allowed inside. Valuables/Cell phones should not be left outside the library.
  4. Books are to be returned on the due date. A fine of 50 paisa per day will be charged for the books returned after the due date.
  5. Books are to be replaced in their respective shelves after reading and reference.
  6. Loss of library books should be immediately brought to the notice of the library. They should be replaced with the latest edition.
  7. Library books are to be used with care and returned without damage. Damaged books will not be accepted and must be replaced.
  8. Students must return all books/cards and settle any outstanding dues at the end of the academic year, to obtain the NO DUES certificate.
  9. Surveillance Cameras are installed in the library as a security measure.
