Objective, Summary and Outcome
- Objective
The objective of the Career guidance talk “Career Quest” was to provide the students with valuable insights and information about various career paths.
- Making them aware of different industries, roles, and opportunities available in the market.
- To encourage them to evaluate their skills, interests, values, and personality traits to align with suitable career options.
- To stress on skill development, the essential skills and qualifications needed for different careers, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning.
- To highlight the importance of building professional connections.
Summary and Outcome
The talk “Career Quest” was conducted on 12th September 2024 in the AV Room. The speaker was Mr. Nirmal Raj, Vice President, HSBC, with more than 30 years of job roles in leading positions. The talk was for an hour and a half. The talk mainly was for the students of BSc I, II, III, MPCs and MECs. Students of BCom III Computer Applications also joined the session. A total of 250 students with 6 faculty attended the talk.
The talk focused on motivating the students to take up challenging jobs and also making them aware of the hard work that goes into building up a strong career/job. It was an interactive session with the focus on the latest job market needs, expectations and realities of a government or a corporate job.
The students gave positive feedback on the talk and insisted that more of such sessions be conducted for them to make the right career decisions.
